Swerve Strickland might be closing in on an AEW comeback.
The former AEW World Champion has been sidelined after undergoing surgery this summer to repair a meniscus injury—an issue he reportedly carried with him from his WWE days. Sources via Fightful Select say the operation and time off were planned in advance, and the latest word inside AEW is that Strickland could be ready for a “winter return” if rehab stays on track.
While many expected Strickland to take time off after AEW All In, his break came a bit later. That delay allowed him to continue working before stepping away for much-needed recovery. Now, with the extended time off, he’s focused entirely on healing and getting back into fighting shape.
But Swerve hasn’t been quiet during his absence. He’s been diving headfirst into his music. He recently dropped a photo from the studio with Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon, writing, “Cooking up with the Chef Raekwon. Beats by Profit The Producer.” Clearly, he’s kept the creative fire going while waiting to get back inside the ring.
With AEW already looking ahead to their winter events, Strickland’s return could shake things up in a big way. Whether he walks back into the world title picture or takes on a new path, fans are definitely watching his next move.
