Carmelo Anthony and Kiyan Anthony have developed quite the pregame routine.

The Syracuse legend and his freshman son now playing for the Orange get out on the court a couple hours before the game and go to work.
It’s a really cool thing to see. The broadcasters on recent Syracuse games have intentionally sought out that footage of the pregame action to give fans an inside look.
‘Melo can’t be at every game, but he’s been at most of them this season, and he’s doing what he can to help his son get better.
Tough to have a better mentor than one of the best scorers in the history of basketball, who also happens to have been a national champion at this same program.
When Syracuse is playing at home, ‘Melo then spends games sitting at the visitor’s bench end of the scoring table, the end of the court that Syracuse attacks toward in the first half.

The broadcast continues to show him multiple times a game, especially trying to get his reaction whenever Kiyan does something cool, like a 3-pointer with the foul on Wednesday night against Virginia Tech.
Kiyan is averaging more than nine points per game in his freshman season, and he has adjusted to the pace of the game well as the season goes on.
His offensive arsenal continues to expand, too. That makes sense — he’s working one-on-one with one of the all-time greats, who just so happens to be his dad.
