Syracuse Orange (21-5, 11-4) junior Sophie Burrows was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday. In two wins last week, Burrows averaged 18.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
Sophie had 18 points and 5 rebounds in the win at Pitt and then followed that with 19 points and a career-high 16 rebounds in the win over Clemson on Sunday. while shooting 61.5 percent (16-for-26) from the field in a pair of ACC victories over Pitt (84-51) and Clemson (68-64).

In the two wins, Burrows committed only one turnover while contributing 5 assists and 3 steals. She is now averaging 13.6 points per game in ACC play while shooting 41% from the field, 38.8% from 3.
Burrows is the first Syracuse player to earn ACC POTW honors. Uche Izoje has been named Rookie of the Week six times so far this season.
The Orange are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they will face the NC State Wolfpack (17-8, 10-4) who sit a 1/2 game behind Syracuse in the ACC standings. This is a big game in the battle for a top-four seed heading into the ACC Tournament.
