Defense stepped up
On a night where the shooting was not at its best, USC’s defense stepped up in a big way. The Trojans held Washington to 50 points as the Huskies shot just 27% from the field.
Overcoming a slow start
While the offense got somewhat better as the game went on, the start was particularly rough for USC. The Women of Troy did not make their first basket until more than eight minutes into the game, and finished the first quarter with just four points. However, USC was able to bounce back from the slow start and steady the ship as the game progressed.
Owning the glass
USC outrebounded Washington 50-38. Jazzy Davidson was particularly impressive on the glass for the Trojans, who recorded 12 rebounds to go along with her 22 points for her second career double-double.

100 for Gottlieb
The victory was the 100th at USC for head coach Lindsay Gottlieb. She reached the mark in under five seasons, becoming the fastest coach in program history to accomplish such.
