Tennessee (12-5, 2-2 SEC) defeated Texas A&M (13-4, 3-1 SEC), 87-82 in double overtime, on Tuesday at Food City Center.
Freshman Nate Ament led the Vols in scoring with 23 points. He converted 7-of-16 field goal attempts and 9-of-11 free throw attempts. The 6-foot-10, 207-pound forward also totaled seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks against the Aggies.

Ahead of Tuesday’s contest, Joe Lunardi of ESPN projected the Vols as a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and would face No. 11 seed Miami University at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The winner would advance to play either No. 3 seed Illinois or No. 14 seed Wright State in the second round.
