Tennessee football commit sets high school receiving records

Greeneville High School (Greeneville, Tennessee) won at Volunteer High School (Church Hill, Tennessee), 42-7, Friday in Week 9 of the TSSAA high school football season.

2026 Tennessee football commit Zay Anderson set two single-game program receiving records in the victory for the Greeneville (7-1, 5-0 Region 1-4A).

Anderson, who committed to the Vols and head coach Josh Heupel on June 28, totaled six receptions for 245 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He also recorded one interception on defense against the Falcons (6-2, 3-2 Region 1-4A). Anderson set school records in receiving yards and touchdowns.

He committed to the Vols over Toledo and Cincinnati. Anderson also had scholarship offers from Indiana State, Wofford, Middle Tennessee State, Memphis, East Tennessee State, Ball State, Troy and Arkansas State and former Tennessee head coach Butch Jones.

A three-sport athlete at Greeneville, Anderson also plays basketball and competes in track and field, where he won class AA state championships in long jump and the 200-meter dash. He is a four-star prospect from 247Sports.
