It’s game week! No. 7 Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) will host No. 10 Miami (10-2) in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Saturday afternoon. On Monday, head coach Mike Elko and wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver spoke to the media to preview the game, while also breaking some news.
After being hired as Kansas State’s next head coach, current offensive coordinator Collin Klein will stay on as the team’s play caller during the CFP, and will now be replaced going into next season by co-offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins, who also serves as the wide receiver coach. For those who paid attention, this development is not shocking based on early reports.

Concerning the health of the roster heading into the most crucial game in program history thus far, Elko provided a less cryptic update after stating that every injured player, including star running back Le’Veon Moss, was “great” and seemingly ready to face the Hurricanes. Still, when directly asked about Moss, who has missed the last five games with an ankle injury, the second-year coach continued to play coy.
“We are kind of in wait-and-see mode with that one, so we will see where that goes.”
This is not the news Aggie fans were hoping to hear. Still, from this writer’s perspective, knowing that Moss was back at practice even before the regular-season loss to Texas, Elko is being strategic and likely waiting until Wednesday’s first injury report is released to provide a straightforward answer on the senior’s status.
Texas A&M’s offense needs a healthy Le’Veon Moss back against a Miami defensive front that has shut down the run for most of the year, and will be looking to do the same this weekend.
