No. 3 Texas A&M (11-0, 7-0 SEC) has reached the final stage of the 2025 season, set to take on No. 16 Texas (8-3, 5-2 SEC), as the Aggies will head to Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium for the first time since 2010. After defeating Samford 48-0 last Saturday, the Aggies will earn a spot in the SEC Championship Game, while the Longhorns are desperate for a win to have any shot at the CFP.
On the recruiting trail, the Aggies’ success this season has resulted in 2026 four-star wide receiver Jayden Warren flipping from Houston last week, while head coach Mike Elko and his staff have already secured seven commits in the 2027 class, including five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, which took place during A&M’s 27-point comeback win over South Carolina.

If the wins keep piling up on the field, I fully expect this recruiting momentum to keep building. On Thanksgiving, it was revealed that 2027 five-star linebacker Cooper Witten has included Texas A&M as one of his final ten teams he’ll consider down the stretch. Witten’s relationship with the Aggies’ coaching staff has been strong, as the standout backer visited earlier this year.
Witten, who is the son of former Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame tight end Jason Witten, is also considering Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Georgia, and Alabama, while the Volunteers, where his father played, are heavily in the mix.
During his 2025 junior season, Witten was a tackling machine at Liberty Christian, racking up 87 tackles, 62 solo tackles, two sacks, and forcing seven fumbles while recording one interception.
According to 247Sports, Witten is the 43rd-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 1-ranked linebacker, and the 8th-ranked prospect in Texas.
