Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his staff are still focused on the 2026 recruiting class, but the staff has already offered a growing list of 2027 prospects after landing four-star quarterback Jayce Johnson, one of the top signal callers in the cycle.
On Saturday, it was reported that the Aggies’ success in recruiting the Georgia landscape could continue after officially offering four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw out of Lee County. With Auburn and Florida currently leading his recruitment, landing Jayce Johnson could be the first step in becoming a legitimate option by this time next year.

On the field, Upshaw is pure speed while possessing the size (6’2″, 190 pounds) to become a No. 1 receiver at the next level, and will likely be considered a five-star prospect after his 2025 junior season. During his sophomore year, Upshaw reeled in 63 receptions for 842 yards and 11 touchdowns. During his first varsity season in 2022, Upshaw recorded 220 yards and three touchdowns off of just 15 receptions.
After landing 2026 four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who is also out of Georgia and has shut down his recruitment and will sign with the Aggies during ESD on December 4, the recruiting pipeline is strong. It should continue to pay dividends in the 2027 cycle.
According to 247Sports, Upshaw is currently positioned as the 103rd-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 16th-ranked wide receiver, and the 13th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
