Texas football offers four-star recruit in 2028 class

by

As the Texas Longhorns prepare for their Week 2 matchup with San Jose State, they have also been busy on the recruiting trail. On Wednesday, they offered King Pitts an offensive lineman in the 2028 class. While his recruitment process is just getting started, the Longhorns have made their interest in the California native clear early on.

While Pitts has made headlines with his play, the Longhorns are not the only program that has noticed. He has also received offers from SMU, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado State, Fresno State, and Georgia State. That list should continue to grow the longer Pitts remain uncommitted.

The heavy interest in the Cardinal Newman High School product comes as no surprise. He is ranked as the 56th best player in his class and the seventh best offensive lineman by 247Sports. Whenever Pitts steps on the field, he has been able to set himself apart against some of the best players in California.

Although the Longhorns are still looking to fill out their 2028 class, they are in the mix for some of the top talents in the country. They have shown interest in four-star recruits such as Jayden Wade, Neimann Lawrence, Micah Rhodes, Brysen Wright, and Jackson Vaughn. They are also preparing to welcome Oswald Jacquet to campus for a visit in two weeks.

Over the next few months, the Longhorns will be a program to watch as Pitts’ recruitment heats up. The next step will be getting him to campus for a visit. That will give Steve Sarkisian and his staff a chance to show what his future at Texas could hold.

Regardless of what the future holds, the Longhorns have made Pitts a priority as they try to make their future brighter.
