Every game in the SEC Conference is a big game from here on out for Texas. If they want to get back to the college football playoffs, they have to beat the Gators. Florida has a 1-3 record this season and they have one of the worst looking offenses in the country. This is a game that they should cruise control in.
Game Time Announced for the Texas Longhorns against the Florida Gators
On Monday, the gametime between the Longhorns and the Gators on October 4 was finally announced. The game will kick off at 3:30 pm. ET on either ABC or ESPN. This will not be a primetime game for the Longhorns, but it is a big game for them.
Despite some of the struggles that quarterback Arch Manning has had this season, he has shown progress over the last few weeks. The Longhorns defense should be able to stop the Gators pedestrian offense. Florida quarterback D.J. Lagway has looked awful during the first four games this season.

Another reason why Texas is going to be fine in this matchup is because Steve Sarkisian is a far superior coach compared to Billy Napier. Napier is on the hot seat in Gainsville and if they are embarrassed at home after the bye week against Texas, then the fanbase is going to continue shouting fire Napier until he is actually gone.
This is a classic trap game for the Longhorns. If they manage to slip up and lose this game, there is a good chance that the playoffs could turn into a pipe dream with the upcoming schedule they have after the Florida game.
