LaDamion Guyton, a five-star EDGE and ALL-USA Football Southeast Team nominee, was primed to be one of the top players coming out of the 2027 class.
Texas Tech fans won’t have to wait another year for the Benedictine Military School (Savannah, Ga.) talent to get down to Lubbock.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Guyton had reclassified from the 2027 to the 2026 class.
According to 247Sports, he maintained his five-star status, coming in as the No. 20 player, the No. 3 edge player, and the No. 3 player from Georgia for 2026.
In the process, he also canceled his upcoming trip to Georgia.
Guyton has been committed to Texas Tech since August 7. He chose the Red Raiders over Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, South Carolina and others.
With Guyton reclassifying, the Red Raiders now have a pair of five-star pledges this cycle. Offensive tackle Felix Ojo committed to Texas Tech on July 4 and ranks as the No. 6 player in the cycle.
