TGL ratings show growing popularity for indoor team golf

by

TGL is once again causing a stir among the public, but most people seem to be positively open to this project, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Before the start of the first season, the public was skeptical and wondered if this project would bring what the world of golf needed.

Judging by the ratings, they made a big deal and managed to make golf even more popular, attracting additional attention to this sport.

The second season seems to be just as successful.

The season opened on December 28 with 646,000 viewers on ABC. A few days later, the second match drew 354,000 viewers on ESPN2. The league got its first broadcast time slot on ABC, directly opposite NFL action from Sunday 17.

The first match was between Atlanta Drive Golf Club and New York Golf Club, while the second match featured Boston Common Golf against Los Angeles Golf Club. The crowd of 354,000 was 17% higher than ESPN's Season 1 average.

The most watched match is still the debut of Jupiter Links Golf Club, i.e. the debut of Tiger Woods, which attracted more than a million viewers on ESPN.

Tiger Woods

The presence of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy always brings added popularity, and there is no doubt that their future appearances at the TGL will attract equal attention.

TGL executives reveal that they have many plans and this is just the beginning. Their desire is to bring innovation to the world of golf, to present golf to young viewers that they have never had the opportunity to see before, and to make this sport much more popular than it has been so far.

The second season serves as an ideal chance for viewers to get used to what they have seen so far and to enjoy sports more this time than the various information that comes from day to day. It is expected that year after year this project will become more and more popular and will show a side of golf that we have not seen before.

When you have players like Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy in your team, success is almost guaranteed.
