No. 3 Texas A&M (8-0, 5-0 SEC) will take on No. 19 Missouri (6-2, 2-2 SEC) in Columbia on Saturday afternoon. For both teams, this game has plenty of postseason implications, especially for the Tigers, who likely need to win out to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. For the Aggies, staying undefeated only improves their chances of reaching the SEC Championship Game and the CFP.
On Tuesday, just hours before the first official College Football Playoff rankings were revealed, the playoff schedule — including game times and channels — was released to the public. As Texas A&M continues to focus on finishing the regular season strong, the Aggies’ positioning as a 1, 2, or 3 seed if they finish with 11 or 12 wins provides a stark advantage, including a first-round bye.

Wherever Texas A&M is positioned during Tuesday’s reveal, these final four games of the regular season mean everything for the Aggies’ chances of making the CFP for the first time in program history, but looking to avoid the first round will meaning avoiding the 5-12 seeds, which, at this point, looks promising with Missouri and Texas being the only remaining raod games, knowing A&M will be a heavy favorite vs. South Carolina and Samford at home.
Starting on Friday, December 19, through Saturday, December 20, the first round will be played in various Stadiums of the 5-8 seeds, while the quarterfinal round, where Texas A&M hopes to land in the quarterfinals, will start on Wednesday, December 31, and finish on New Year’s Day.
