With the WNBA and the WNBPA (WNBA Players Union) currently in a 30 day extension for ongoing Collective Bargaining Agreement talks, the league is t currently going forward with business as usual for the offseason. The first big date on the calendar is the 2026 Draft Lottry. That will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23. It will be broadcast on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Washington Mystics will be in the lottery as a result of not making the 2025 WNBA Playoffs. They have a 9.7 percent chance of getting the No.1 pick in the draft. The Connecticut Sun were the worst team in the 2025 standings, but have just a 5.5 percent chance of getting the No. 1 pick.

Unlike the NBA Draft Lottery, the WNBA version looks at each of the non playoff teams’ cumulative record for the last two seasons, which is 2024 and 2025. In 2024, the Sun had a 28-12 record and made the WNBA semifinals, so the 11-33 record they had in 2025 gave Connecticut a seat at lottery table, but they also get penalized for their 2024 season.
