Three college football teams projected for 10-win regular-season records after Week 1

The 2025 college football season enters Week 2. FBS teams will kick off Week 2 on Friday.

Following Week 1 contests, ESPN Football Power Index released updated record projections for FBS teams. Tennessee (1-0) is projected to have a 9.5-2.7 record during the 2025 regular season. The Vols were projected for a 9.0-3.01 record ahead of Week 1.

ESPN lists three teams to finish the 2025 regular season with 10-plus wins. Ohio State has the best record projection (10.8-1.8), followed by Penn State (10.3-2.2) and USC (10.0-2.5).

Tennessee opened its season with a, 45-26, win against Syracuse in Atlanta, Georgia. The Vols will host East Tennessee State on Saturday at Neyland Stadium (3:30 p.m. EDT, SEC Network+).

Tennessee’s other nonconference matchups will also be at home against UAB and New Mexico State. The Vols will host Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt in SEC play, while traveling to Mississippi State, Alabama, Kentucky and Florida during the regular season.
