The Minnesota Timberwolves waived center Jesse Edwards from his two-way contract. Edwards has agreed to a contract with Melbourne United of Australia’s NBL for the upcoming season.
In 34 games with the Iowa Wolves of the G League, Edwards averaged 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. The 7-footer signed his two-way qualifying offer with Minnesota earlier this offseason, but the team will reportedly be bringing back Tristen Newton on a two-way deal. Newton will join Enrique Freeman and rookie center Rocco Zikarsky as the Timberwolves two-way players this season.
