The UConn men’s basketball program announced the start time and TV information for its second preseason exhibition against Michigan State on Thursday.

The Oct. 28 matchup at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford will air locally on WFSB Channel 3 with pregame coverage beginning at 7 p.m., a half-hour before the 7:30 p.m. scheduled tip-off. The game will also be streamed on UConn+ for a one-time fee of $7.99.

WFSB and The WAX announced their partnership with the UConn athletic department in September and will host a 30-minute pregame show prior to every men’s and women’s basketball home game.

“We have had a terrific partnership with WFSB over the past two seasons,” said Tom Murphy, General Manager for UConn Sports Properties. “We are excited to expand our relationship with their carriage of the UConn Men’s Basketball exhibition game vs. Michigan State – a matchup between two of the most iconic college basketball programs in the country – and the recent announcement of UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball pre-game shows on The Wax. This coverage allows local fans to access more Huskies content than ever before on free, over-the-air television, while fans outside of Connecticut may watch the game on our UConn+ streaming service.”

While the Oct. 28 matchup won’t count toward official records, the all-time series between UConn and Michigan State is tied through eight matchups. Tom Izzo and the Spartans have come out on top the last two times the programs met, in the 2017-18 PK80 tournament and the 2021-22 Battle 4 Atlantis.

The exhibition was announced as a home-and-home series, with the Huskies set to make a return trip to East Lansing for an exhibition game next fall.

UConn’s first preseason exhibition will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday in a men’s and women’s doubleheader against Boston College. The women’s game is set for a 2 p.m. tip with the men’s matchup scheduled for 7 p.m., both airing on NBC Sports Boston and Peacock.
