No. 17 Michigan State basketball ha another massive test ahead of them when they face off with No. 12 Kentucky in the Champions Classic. The matchup between the Spartans and Wildcats will be the first time Tom Izzo and Mark Pope will square off against one another.
Kentucky, sitting at 3-1 suffering a heartbreaking loss to Louisville, are looking to get their first signature win of the 2025-26 season. Meanwhile, after defeating Arkansas last week, the Spartans are looking to add another signature win to the resume at the expense of the SEC.

Ahead of the game with Kentucky, following the last tune up practice in East Lansing, Izzo spoke about the matchup with the Wildcats. Izzo noted how loaded Kentucky is, and talked about the effort the Spartans are going to need in order to win on Tuesday inside of Madison Square Garden.
