Adam Cole may be sidelined, but he’s far from forgotten—and AEW President Tony Khan made that clear during the Worlds End post-show media scrum.
After Cole made a surprise video appearance during Zero Hour, fans were left wondering what it meant for his future. Khan didn’t give a timeline, but he did offer a direct update that confirms what fans saw: Cole is doing well and still part of the AEW family.
Cole hasn’t wrestled since July due to serious concussion-related issues, and he officially stepped away from competition during AEW All In: Texas. While there’s been speculation that he may never return to in-ring action, Cole’s appearance at Worlds End, where he gave his predictions for the Continental Classic tournament, ended with a hopeful note about 2026. Khan addressed the moment, saying he was just happy to see Cole involved again.
“Well, there’s certainly no pressure. I was just really happy to hear from Adam Cole, and I thought the fans would be so happy to see him.”
Khan doubled down on AEW’s commitment to Cole’s health, pointing out how difficult his exit from competition had been. Although there’s no official medical update, Khan acknowledged what fans noticed in the video—that Cole seems to be doing better.
“It was important for Adam Cole to step away and prioritize his health and well-being. We love him, and he’s a great star here.”
“I don’t have any health updates other than to say you can see he’s doing well and he’s excited about AEW.”
Khan recalled how emotional Cole’s departure was earlier this year and praised how meaningful it was to hear from him again.
“Since we last heard from him when he had to vacate the TNT Championship at AEW All In: Texas—it was a sad moment. It was a hard moment for a lot of the fans and for a lot of us, so we were so happy to hear from him.”
He also praised Cole’s skills outside the ring, hinting that he still has a valuable place in AEW regardless of what happens physically.
“He’s very good at being an analyst. He’s an excellent host.”
While there’s still no confirmation on an in-ring comeback, one thing is clear: Adam Cole isn’t going anywhere. Whether it’s in front of the camera, behind a microphone, or one day back in the ring, AEW has a place for him—and the fans are ready whenever he is.
