Tony Nese Quietly Takes On Backstage Coaching Role In AEW

It turns out Tony Nese has been doing more than just competing in the ring โ€” heโ€™s also been helping shape AEWโ€™s product from behind the scenes.

According to Fightful Select, โ€œThe Premier Athleteโ€ has been serving as a coach and agent within All Elite Wrestling. While his role hadnโ€™t been publicly discussed until now, itโ€™s something heโ€™s been doing for quite some time.

โ€œHe was listed this past Saturday for Collision on a match, and when we asked in AEW, we were told that he had been working in that role for quite some time, it just wasnโ€™t publicly known.โ€

Nese has been less active in the ring over the last two years but remains a semi-regular presence on Ring of Honor TV, teaming with longtime partner Ariya Daivari. His in-ring career spans 20 years, with runs across the independent circuit, TNA, WWE, and AEW.

For fans who only know Nese for his work inside the ropes, this revelation shows heโ€™s making an impact in AEW in a whole new way โ€” mentoring talent and helping produce matches while still competing when called upon.

Do you think Tony Neseโ€™s behind-the-scenes role could eventually lead to a bigger position in AEWโ€™s creative or talent development? Share your thoughts in the comments.
