Top Georgia offensive line target transfers to Ole Miss

by

A top offensive line transfer target for the Georgia Bulldogs is off the market. LSU Tigers transfer offensive tackle Carius Curne has transferred to the Ole Miss Rebels, according to Max Olson of ESPN.

Curne was just a four-star recruit from the class of 2025 from Marion, Arkansas. His high pedigree gave LSU the impetus to start Curne in his freshman year, and he started five games. However, he was mediocre at best according to Pro Football Focus with a 54.8 overall grade, including a 54.7 pass-blocking grade and 59.7 run-blocking grade. He allowed three sacks and eight pressures on the year, along with three penalties against Alabama. Still, Curne was considered the nation’s best offensive tackle in the transfer portal early in the process.

Now, Curne will be under Ole Miss offensive line coach John Garrison, who has chosen to stay loyal to the Rebels during Lane Kiffin’s exodus. Garrison has developed several great offensive lines and offensive lineman, such as first-round pick Ikem Ekwonu at NC State.

Curne transfers from Kiffin’s new school to his old school. It’s a huge transfer win for Ole Miss coach Pete Golding, who has quickly become a college football darling after defeating Georgia in the Sugar Bowl 39-34.

Georgia’s 2026 offensive line is going to depend heavily on if Monroe Freeling and/or Earnest Greene elect to return for another season at UGA.
