Triple H Not Happy About “Bogus” Injury Reports After Seth Rollins’ WWE Title Win

by

Triple H is weighing in on Seth Rollins’ shocking Money in the Bank cash-in at WWE SummerSlam — and he’s giving The Visionary credit for outsmarting everyone.

At SummerSlam 2025, CM Punk dethroned GUNTHER to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in over a decade. Moments later, Seth Rollins, who had been claiming to be injured, revealed he was perfectly fine, stormed the ring, cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, and pinned Punk to win the title.

Speaking after the event, Paul “Triple H” Levesque praised Rollins’ strategy, even if he wasn’t thrilled about the fake injury reports.

“Seth Rollins is playing chess while everybody else is playing checkers. And he comes out, goes through none of it, and takes the World Heavyweight Championship. My hats off to Seth Rollins, that’s a smart way to do business. Not thrilled about bogus medical reports but we’ll deal with that down the line.”

Triple H’s comments make it clear that, while the questionable injury angle may have crossed a line, Rollins’ calculated move was exactly the kind of opportunistic thinking that Money in the Bank was designed for.

Do you think Seth Rollins’ fake injury was a brilliant setup or a cheap way to win the championship? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
