Trish Stratus didn’t lace up the boots in 2025 like many expected — but that doesn’t mean she’s done.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the WWE Hall of Famer remains open to wrestling, and a return in 2026 isn’t off the table at all. During a recent Q&A, Sapp responded to a question about Stratus’ status and the missed opportunity to celebrate her 25th anniversary in WWE. He explained that both WWE insiders and those close to Stratus were surprised by how quiet the year ended up being.
“There were a lot of people around her and in WWE that were very surprised she didn’t wrestle more throughout the year,” Sapp said.
Internally, WWE had discussed ideas around a “25 Years of Trish Stratus” celebration, but the plans never came together. Still, Stratus has consistently kept the lines of communication open. Sapp made it clear that Stratus hasn’t shut the door — quite the opposite.
“The expectation that we’d heard was that WWE would do some sort of ‘25 Years of Trish Stratus’ thing, and it just didn’t happen,” Sapp continued. “People that I speak to say she’s always pitched things over the years, and has been very easy to deal with and made herself available when needed.”
“I think we’ll see her at some point in 2026.”
Stratus, now 50, has stayed active in WWE circles, making appearances throughout 2025 even if she didn’t wrestle. While there are no current creative plans locked in, her willingness to pitch ideas and take calls from WWE leadership means her in-ring career isn’t officially over.
With the WrestleMania 42 season heating up, the idea of one final Trish Stratus moment on a major stage is far from out of reach.
