The Tigers and Blue Devils entered the week tied atop the ACC standings, but that was before Clemson fell in a 76-66 upset loss at home to Virginia Tech on Wednesday night.
Clemson looked flat against Virginia Tech and would trail by as many as 12 points in the second half en route to just its second home loss this season. Carter Welling led the Tigers with 19 points in the loss, and Nick Davidson and Ace Buckner added 16 apiece.
Duke picked up a game-high 21 points from sophomore guard Isaiah Evans in a 70-54 win at Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Cameron Boozer added 17 points to go with 10 rebounds for a double-double. Boozer is the ACC’s leading scorer with 23 points per game, which ranks fourth nationally.
