Twin Cities Pro-Am: Top Pro/College Players

by

The 2025 Twin Cities Pro-Am has came and gone. Held at Minnehaha Academy (home of Chet Holmgren and Jalen Suggs) for the past few years, founder Jamar Diggs (who doubles as an overseas pro in France himself) brought the Pro-Am back downtown to his alma mater, historic DeLaSalle High School. While there weren’t as many NBA players as usual due to injuries, free agency, child birth, and a myriad of other issues, the competition was still at an extremely high level and the fans were out to check out the action.

While the lack of NBA players was a bit of a blow in terms of stardom, it certainly wasn’t as far as the style of play was concerned. These guys out there were hungry, both in terms of getting potential jobs or simply preparing for the following season. There wasn’t a single point in which you thought you were watching an exhibition game and the highly spirited level of play resonated with fans, who showed out more to see former local players than they did to see the NBA guys.

Here are a few of the top overseas and college players from the 2025 Twin Cities Pro-Am:

Jordan Horn, 6’3, PG/SG, Team Aflam of Dreams, Overseas

The MVP of the Twin Cities Pro-Am also proved to be one of the most unstoppable one on one players that the event had to offer. Playing the game totally at his own pace, Horn showed a nice change of pace, super soft touch on high finishes at the rack, and the ability to make incredibly difficult contested shots. Horn is the founder of the Twenty3 One on One League, but surely has the talent to make a living playing overseas if he decides to do so.

Geno Crandall, 6’3, PG, Team YHIC, Germany

The best pure point guard in the Twin Cities Pro-Am was undoubtedly former North Dakota and Gonzaga standout Geno Crandall. An elite playmaker out of pick and roll play, Crandall showed great patience coming off screens, can make virtually any pass in the book, but also maintained presence as a scoring threat. Having led Germany’s BBL in assists this past season, the Minneapolis native is destined for another big season to continue to build his resume’ across the pond.

Reggie Lynch, 6’10, C, Team Strictly Bball, Poland

There was no more physically imposing big man at the Twin Cities Pro-Am than 6-foot-10 Reggie Lynch. Having won defensive player of the year in the Big Ten and Italy, he has also led the Israeli, Russian, and Lithuanian leagues in blocked shots. The raining Polish Supercup MVP controlled the paint on both ends at the Pro–AM, both as a lob threat and as a rim protector.

Race Thompson, 6’8, PF, Team Aflam of Dreams, Poland

The former four star recruit and Indiana forward showed why he was such a highly touted prospect at the Twin Cities Pro-Am. He is strough enough to control his area in the paint, yet is also skilled enough to play on the perimeter and create for others out of post spots, as seen with his play last year with the Memphis Grizzlies G-League team. The son of former Packers running back Darrell Thompson has decided not to return to the G-League next season, instead embarking on his European career in Poland.

Sy Chatman, 6’8, PF, Team Sidiki Capital, G-League

As far as long term prospects are concerned, Sy Chatman definitely showed the tools that you look for out of a new age forward. He is perfectly comfortable playing facing the basket, plays above the rim on both ends of the court, and has the agility to get out and contain virtually any position on the perimeter defensively. Chatman played with the Iowa Wolves in the G-League last year and has no shortage of options for this upcoming season.

Lu’Cye Patterson, 6’2, PG, Team Strictly Bball, Overseas

One of the most productive college guards in the event, Lu’Cye Patterson came to the Pro-AM after leading Charlotte in scoring for the ’23-24 season (14.6 PPG) and was second in scoring for Minnesota this past season (11.6 PPG). The power point guard is outstanding at changing speeds, knows how to get to his sweet spots, and is a threat to score any time he has the ball in his hands. Lu’Cye is currently weighing overseas options as well as exploring getting a potential waiver for another year in the NCAA.

Ater Manyuon, 6’5, SG, Team Sidiki Capital, Indian Hills CC (IA)

The best JUCO player of the Pro-Am was undoubtedly Ater Manyuon, a lefty swingman who is from Austin, Minn. The freak athlete was an absolute monster in transition, had no problem creating separation for his 3-point shot, and played above the rim on both ends of the floor.  The sophomore has the potential to be one of the more intriguing JUCO guards in the Midwest this upcoming season.
