Two Georgia football players were arrested Friday and charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.

Starting offensive guard Dontrell Glover and running back Bo Walker were booked into the Clarke County Jail and were still being held pending $1,500 bonds, according to the jail’s online booking report. The arresting agency is the Athens-Clarke County Police.

Glover, from Fairburn, was an All-SEC Freshman selection after starting the last 11 games this season.

Walker, from Decatur, is also a freshman who has rushed for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns in six games in a reserve role.

Walker missed the SEC championship game following surgery for what was reported to be an automobile accident.

Walker was booked into jail at 5:30 p.m. and Glover at 5:55 p.m.

“We were informed of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” Georgia deputy athletic director Steven Drummond told the Athens Banner-Herald. “This is a pending legal matter and and we will not have further comment at this time.”

Georgia, which won the SEC Championship last Saturday against Alabama, does not play again until the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl in a College Football Playoff quarterfinal.

The arrests come nearly three weeks after redshirt freshman offensive lineman Nyier Daniels was arrested in Commerce on 13 charges, including felony fleeing from a police officer and two counts of cruelty to a child in the second degree. Police alleged he was going over 150 miles per hour in a 70 mile per zone while being chased.

Daniels was dismissed the next day by coach Kirby Smart.
