Valter Walker left Abu Dhabi with Louie Sutherland’s leg but ended up hurting his own, as well, at UFC 321.
Walker, who sported a pendant with a cut-off foot during fight week, ended up submitting Louie Sutherland with a first-round heel hook Saturday at Etihad Arena. However, Walker did not walk away uncompromised. The Brazilian broke his left fibula in the opening 40 seconds of the fight when he ate a leg kick from Sutherland.
Unfortunately for Walker (15-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC), his desired quick turnaround to fight fellow UFC 321 winner Hamdy Abdelwahab on Nov. 15 in Qatar won’t happen. However, that hasn’t stopped him from returning to the gym.
