UFC 322 post-event facts: Islam Makhachev joins most prestigious championship club

The biggest UFC event of 2025 finally unfolded on Saturday with UFC 322 at Madison Square Garden in New York, topped by two championship fight.

In the main event, Islam Makhachev (28-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC) claimed the welterweight title from Jack Della Maddalena (18-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) in lopsided fashion by unanimous decision, while women’s flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko (26-4-1 MMA, 15-3-1 UFC) had her way with Zhang Weili (26-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) and got the job done by unanimous decision.

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $350,500.

Michael Morales, Carlos Prates, Benoit Saint Denis and Bo Nickal earned $50,000 UFC 322 fight-night bonuses.

UFC 322 drew an announced attendance of 20,664 for a live gate of $13,624,189.

Debuting fighters went 1-0 at the event.

Betting favorites went 12-2 on the card.
