UFC card suffers two withdrawals days before event

by

UFC Fight Night 264 has taken some hits.

Two open slots are currently present on the card due to multiple fighter withdrawals from Saturday’s event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Cristian Quinonez is out of his bout vs. Adrian Yanez due to visa issues. Quinonez (18-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) confirmed the news Wednesday after an initial report by Best Fight Picks. It’s unclear who, if anyone, Yanez (17-6 MMA, 6-3 UFC) will now face.

Additionally, Robert Valentin withdrew from his fight vs. Jackson McVey due to a back injury and was briefly replaced by Donte Johnson, who was then pulled after not receiving Nevada Athletic Commission clearance.

Johnson (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) just competed this past Saturday when he quickly defeated Sedriques Dumas. The promotion continues to look for a replacement to fight McVey (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

Two people with knowledge of the changes informed MMA Junkie of the developments, which were first reported by Wristlock MMA , but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

The current UFC Fight Night 264 lineup includes:

  • Gabriel Bonfim vs. Randy Brown
  • Joseph Morales vs. Matt Schnell
  • Uros Medic vs. Muslim Salikhov
  • Ismael Bonfim vs. Chris Padilla
  • Raoni Barcelos vs. Ricky Simon
