It’s that time of year again!
Contender Series is back with 10 straight weeks of mixed martial arts (MMA) action. After two weeks of the show starting an hour earlier because of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), this week’s show begins at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
For what it’s worth, all five winners earned UFC contracts last week (results here).
In tonight’s main event, Middleweight up-and-comers collide as knockout artist Trent Miller (8-2) takes on Brazil’s Ryan Gandra (7-1). In the co-main event, Damon Wilson (9-2) fights Brazilian finisher, Marcio Barbosa (16-2). In the “Featured” bout, one of the best prospects of the season, Abdulrakhman Yakhyaev (6-0), takes on Alik Lorenz (6-1) in a Light Heavyweight showcase. By far the best fight of the card takes place in the Lightweight division as Mexico’s Cristian Perez (13-1) collides with Manoel Sousa (12-1). Finally, Heavyweights throw down on short notice when Darion Abbey (7-4) fights Donte Johnson (5-0).
