UFC Hall of Famer arrested again

by

B.J. Penn has been arrested – again.

On Tuesday, Penn was arrested for violating a protection order, according to a news bulletin posted by the Hawaii Police Department. Police say Penn on Monday entered a property that violated the court-ordered terms that protect his 79-year-old mother, Lorraine Shin. Penn was arrested one day later and posted $2,000 bail.

This legal saga began when Penn, 46, was initially arrested in May on family abuse charges after he allegedly shoved his mother into a vehicle and stole her mail. He then was arrested two times in June for violating the protective order.

In recent months, Penn has utilized his social media pages to share unusual posts and videos, some in which he claims his family members are imposters and not actually who they say they are.

Penn’s family members have said in court that they believe the UFC legend might be suffering from Capgras syndrome, a rare delusional mental disorder that is thought to be tied to brain injuries.

Penn has yet to comment on the most recent arrest, though in his most recent Instagram post Monday, he called the temporary restraining order filed by his mother “first-degree theft.

Penn is due back in court Sept. 24 for a conference hearing.
