UFC on ESPN 73 closed out the year with a few spectacular finishes.
The event started and ended with first-round stoppages, as Jamey-Lyn Horth swarmed Tereza Bleda with punches on the early prelims, and Manel Kape floored Brandon Royval with a huge right hand.

There were four other finishes throughout the card, including two newcomers getting it done early. Dana White’s Contender Series signee Steven Asplund ended Sean Sharaf in the second round in a Fight of the Night battle. Former Bellator champion Yaroslav Amosov wrapped up Neil Magny in an anaconda choke for a first-round tap.
Melquizael Costa added a phenomenal highlight to his reel with a walk-off head kick knockout, but was somehow snubbed on the Performance of the Night bonuses. The other finish was a beautiful spinning backfist from Kevin Vallejos, who became the first to knock out Giga Chikadze.
