Rhys McKee is back in the free agent pool.
A Cage Warriors champion and staple of U.K. MMA, McKee (14-7-1 MMA, 1-5 UFC) revealed his parting of ways with the UFC in a recent Instagram post.
“Disappointed to part ways with the UFC before some roster watch lets everyone know,” McKee wrote. “Silver lining coming.”

He added on X, “Been a fast few days, feel a weight lift since alls been said & done, excited for the next step in my career plenty left in the tank not shown yet, all I want now is activity, decent communication & my worth in full, live & die by the sword 100% finish rate always on the line!”
The departure marks the second time McKee has split from the promotion. In this stint, which began in September 2023, he went 1-3. His previous stint took place in 2020, during which he went 0-2. McKee then returned to the regional scene, went 3-0 including two Cage Warriors title fight wins, and earned another look.

It’s unclear what McKee’s next move is. Seldom are fighters able to earn a second stint, never mind a third. But at 30 and historically with repeated success against top-tier talent in Europe, McKee may have a better chance than some.
