UFC vets Yoel Romero, Darren Till trade barbs over boxing callout

by

Yoel Romero and Darren Till have been going back and forth about a potential showdown in the boxing ring.

Since both former UFC title challengers appear to be done with serious runs in MMA, they’re both now dabbling in the boxing world, taking on the biggest fights that make sense. This particular budding rivalry began when the “Soldier of God” called out Till as a potential opponent.

“I watched Darren Till’s fight, and I love the way he boxed,” Romero recently said through an interpreter on “The Ariel Helwani Show.” “That’s the fight I want next. After watching him, it’s going to be a great fight. After I beat Darren Till, the world’s going to want to see Yoel Romero vs. Jake Paul.”

Till is coming off a violent finish of former UFC champ Luke Rockhold in a boxing match scheduled for six rounds at Misfits Boxing 22. Till only needed three, as he left Rockhold folded over backward in the corner after a vicious combination. Since exiting the UFC in 2022, Till has won four boxing bouts, three by stoppage.

The seemingly respectful callout from Romero prompted a fiery reply from Till.

“Yoel shut ya f*cking fat old mouth think i give a sh*t about you nowadays? Do I f*ck,” Till wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Come over to boxing and I’ll leave ur fat juice ed head on the canvas. Infact I’ve been told to stop calling old c*nts out like yourself out so f*ck it. I don’t even wanna fight you. Ur an old age pensioner. Ur a bus pass dependant. Don’t even call my name ya bum.”

Romero has also recently turned his attention to boxing, although under the custom rules of Dirty Boxing Championship and gloveless boxing with BKFC. Through three fights, Romero has knocked out each opponent.

A traditional gloved boxing match would be something new for Romero, but apparently, he’s eager to take on the task against Till.

“You say this to me @darrentill2?” Romero replied on X. “I luh youuuu. See you soon, boi.”
