UNC basketball jumps in NET rankings after big win

by

North Carolina got a Top 25 win over No. 21 Louisville to kick off a tough stretch of games that also includes Virginia Tech, Clemson and Duke.

The Tar Heels nearly squandered the victory despite holding a 16-point lead at one point in the second half. However, a win over a ranked Louisville team is a good win, and it’s even better when that team is No. 16 in the NET rankings.

The win propelled UNC to jump three spots from No. 28 to No. 25 in the updated NET rankings. That ranking could change soon, too, with Quad 2 games against Virginia Tech on Saturday and Clemson on March 2 coming to town, as well as a Quad 1 opportunity against Duke on March 7.

UNC is 6-6 in Quad 1 games, 2-0 in Quad 2 games, 9-0 in Quad 3 games and 5-0 in Quad 4 games.
