After 10 weeks of college football, it may be safe to say that the Heisman race will come down to two QBs on two of the best teams in the country. That both come from the Big Ten makes the final few weeks that much more intriguing. Julian Sayin has had an incredibly efficient season as a redshirt freshman while Fernando Mendoza has seamlessly maintained Indiana‘s recent rise as a college football powerhouse. Whichever way this race goes, will be super fascinating.
Julian Sayin, QB, Ohio State (+175)
Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin (10) celebrates during the NCAA football game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Nov. 1, 2025.
Stats: 20-23, 316 yds, 4 TDs

Week 11: at Purdue
Julian Sayin has taken the Heisman race by storm, not just as a redshirt freshman but as an elite passer of the football. He is the undisputed leader in terms of completion percentage and against Penn State had an absurd 87.3% completion rate. He now has the third most touchdowns of 20 plus yards as well, proving that he doesn’t just play it safe. Still, the biggest test of his young career will come to end the season, as Michigan will look to win five straight in the series. The way things are going, it doesn’t look like Sayin will allow it.
Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana (+220)

Stats: 14-21, 201 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

Week 11: at Penn State
In all honesty, Mendoza’s performances have been somewhat pedestrian over the past two weeks. Still, he has the pedigree and resume to back him up. He now has three 45+ point conference wins with the Hoosiers. He also has them at 9-0 for the second consecutive year. Most impressively, he also holds the Hoosiers’ record for single-game completion percentage, with his performance against Indiana State. While Sayin’s play has allowed him to leapfrog Mendoza in the Heisman race, Mendoza can rely on a perhaps more impressive resume.
Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama (+340)

Week 11: vs LSU
Ty Simpson had a day off while several candidates had the chance to falter, thus keeping him within striking distance of the top spot. No one is begrudging him for his impressive wins however. They will face LSU coming off four straight ranked wins. With only Oklahoma left as a ranked foe, Simpson can continue to improve his stats. After all, he still only has 1 interception thrown all season. If it remains that way over the next three weeks, and Bama is in the SEC championship game, Simpson will firmly have his hat in the ring.
Marcel Reed, QB, Texas A&M (+650)

Week 11: at Missouri

This may be the defining stretch of Marcel Reed’s candidacy. He has two opportunities for ranked wins for his unbeaten Aggies as they visit Missouri. However, the final game of his season could be the key to his Heisman success. His Aggies go on the road to go to a resurgent Texas potentially looking for their own playoff spot. It would certainly add to the narrative if Reed stops A&M’s biggest rivals in an attempt for them to get to the playoff. He still has the worst passing yardage total of all the top 5 and the most interceptions, so a narrative-defining win could be integral to secure a trip to New York.
Gunner Stockton, QB, Georgia (+2500)

Stats: 20-29, 233 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT

Week 11: at Mississippi State
Stockton may be the most gutsy QB in the race, but it may not be enough considering the fact that the team haven’t necessarily been all that impressive. They had to come from behind against a floundering Florida team in yet another game in which they did not get off to a good start. It’s one thing for a QB to bail you out of those situations. It’s quite another to be put in them in the first place. It could work for Gunner Stockton as a compelling storyline. But Texas is waiting in two weeks time with their season on the line and a bone to pick after last year’s events. Stockton’s stock depends on that game and how his team performs around him as well.
Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State (+4000)
Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith (4) celebrates a touchdown during the NCAA football game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Nov. 1, 2025.
Stats: 6 rec, 123 yds, 2 TDs

Week 11: at Purdue
This was more like it from Jeremiah Smith, and yet, he still lost out as Ohio State’s receiving leader by one yard to the irrepressible Carnell Tate. Still, this was much needed from him to stay alive. His yardage total holds him back, but with only Michigan left as a ranked opponent, his stats could begin to skyrocket. Unfortunately, he has the Heisman frontrunner throwing the ball to him as well. He’ll need some monumental QB slipups for his odds to rise.
Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame( +4000)

Stats: 17 carries, 136 yds, 2 TDs
Week 11: vs Navy
Out of all the players lurking on the odds list, Jeremiyah Love could be the most dangerous. He is quickly stockpiling 100 yard games left and right and continues to be the bell cow for the Fighting Irish in their race for an at large playoff bid. He may not have the gaudy stats, but with two straight 100+ yard games and no ranked opponents remaining on the schedule, Love could be the dark horse candidates bettors can get behind.

Diego Pavia, QB, Vanderbilt (+4000)

Stats: 27-38, 365 yds, 3 TDs
Week 11: vs Auburn
It was certainly not Diego Pavia’s fault for the Commodores‘ loss on the road against the Longhorns. He led an impassioned fourth quarter comeback that came up just short, showing that he is not just an elite rusher, but an elite downfield thrower as well. Still, his Heisman candidacy hinges on his team’s performance as well, and they didn’t do enough in the other three quarters to support him. The Commodores control their playoff destiny and Pavia still has had incredible moments throughout the season. But if the Commodores end up coming short of their playoff goals because of this loss, Pavia may not be flying to New York at the end of the year.

Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss (+4000)
Nov 1, 2025; Oxford, Mississippi, USA; Mississippi Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss (6) drops back to pass during the first quarter against the South Carolina Gamecocks at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Petre Thomas-Imagn Images
Stats: 12-21, 159 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Week 11: vs the Citadel
It may be too little too late for one of college football’s most incredible stories in Trinidad Chambliss. The former Division II star has been nothing short of amazing for the Ole Miss Rebels after taking over for the injured Austin Simmons and hanging onto the job after his return. Yet, he looked mortal against a Gamecocks squad that has underwhelmed all year. Chambliss still has proved that sometimes college football can produce the craziest of stories.
Dante Moore, QB, Oregon (+5500)
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore throws a pass before the game as the Oregon Ducks host the Wisconsin Badgers on Oct. 25, 2025, at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.
Stats: N/A

Week 11: at Iowa
Moore rounds out the top ten, but perhaps not necessarily because of his own performance. Ever since their dramatic win over Penn State almost three weeks ago, Oregon and Moore haven’t really looked all that convincing. They only put up 21 points on perhaps the worst Big Ten team this season in Wisconsin and Moore only threw for a paltry 86 yards, dealing with a bloodied nose on the day. Now, they’re on the road against a red-hot Iowa squad who could be the chaos factor in the Big Ten. Fade Moore heavily over the next couple of weeks after a promising start to the season.
