Updated Heisman odds after Week 3

by

After the results of Week 3, it’s clear this Heisman race will be one of the wildest in recent memory. Certain pundits expected certain players to emerge as clear favorites, but that hasn’t been the case. Instead, we’ve gotten an incredibly wide open race that will give the casual fan cause for excitement as we get deeper into the year. Here are the current update Heisman odds after Week 3.

Week 4: vs Florida

This is what people expected of Carson Beck last year. It just might’ve taken a change of scenery to do it. In a game against a feisty USF squad that had upset Florida last week, Carson Beck got the job done in efficient manner. His 2 interceptions weren’t pretty, but he kept this offense ticking and spread the ball. His connection especially with Keelan Marion was absolutely integral in this game and the fact he found eight different receivers throughout the game shows he can be a smooth operator. It may be one year later that expected, but Beck is throwing his hat into the ring.

Week 4: vs Auburn

John Mateer knows no bounds. The Oklahoma QB since the start of the season proved why the Sooners wanted the whole package that he can bring to the table. In another easy victory over Illinois State, Mateer showcased why he may just be the frontrunner for this award. He can do it with his legs as well as his cannon of an arm, and despite the fact he came from the portal, he’s shown no signs of rust getting to know new receivers and taking command of this offense. Don’t be surprised if the most exciting QB in college football stays near the top for awhile.

Week 4: BYE

In his first test of the season, Stockton passed with flying colors. He showed more than moxie in Georgia’s overtime win over Tennessee on the road. His fourth down touchdown throw with 2:32 remaining to tie the game was one of the most impressive throws of the week. However, it was his ability to drag Georgia out of an early hole to even get to that point that must be commended. Usually, Georgia QBs are never really recognized until late in the season when they win national championships at the end of the year. With his early play, the gutsy sophomore is hiding from no one. Alabama awaits after a much-needed bye.

Week 4: vs Oregon State

Although he wasn’t as impressive in his first Big Ten start, Moore has been nothing more than a revelation. No one knew what to expect from the former UCLA man, and yet, right now, he is second in the Big Ten in completion percentage, completing just over 78 percent of his passes. He is running as efficient an offense as anyone in college football and is continuing the trend of elite QBs produced by Dan Lanning. We’ll really know how efficient and effective this Oregon offense will be when after a tuneup game against Oregon State, they travel to University Park to take on the inimitable Nittany Lions. For now though, Moore is more than living up to expectations.

Week 4: BYE

Reed vaults into the Heisman race after a gutsy performance on the road against a Fighting Irish squad simply fighting not to lose. However, it was his game-winning touchdown pass with 13 seconds remaining that stole the show. Even though his numbers didn’t necessarily look all that Heisman-worthy, it was his highlight plays that saw him enter these rankings. TAMU will have even more opportunities in the coming weeks but go into the bye with a vital win..and their QB on a high. Look out for the dual-threat QB to potentially make this thing interesting with more big time wins and moments.

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin (10) scrambles in front of tight end Will Kacmarek (89) during the NCAA football game against the Ohio Bobcats at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 13, 2025. Ohio State won 37-9.

Week 4: BYE

It’s safe to say that Sayin look right at home as the new face of the Buckeyes. He leads the Big Ten in completion percentage, has one of the best wins of the season to his name already, and has finally looked to have developed a rapport with Jeremiah Smith. While this wasn’t his best game and the Buckeyes struggled early, it was nice to see Sayin settle in. That’s exactly what the coaching staff wants out of the young QB before they head into Big Ten play. Most importantly though, he has gotten the job done and the Buckeyes off to a flying start.

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith (4) celebrates a touchdown during the NCAA football game against the Ohio Bobcats at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 13, 2025. Ohio State won 37-9.

Week 4: BYE

After a slow start, Smith looks to be just getting started as his partnership with Julian Sayin ramps up. In fact, in the past two weeks, he now has a combined 272 yards and 3 touchdowns to his name after only logging 43 yards against the Longhorns in Week 1. If this continues, Smith will almost certainly have the numbers for Heisman voters to consider sending him to New York. After all, this is still a QB-heavy award. But Smith is certainly capable of staying in this race till the very end. The Buckeyes just have to keep winning and he just have to keep producing.

Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar (6) during a college football game between Tennessee and Georgia at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., on Sept. 13, 2025.

Week 4: vs UAB

Ultimately, it was not Joey Aguilar’s fault that the Volunteers came up short against Georgia. The fact that in a losing effort, his Heisman odds skyrocketed has to stand for something. After all, he wasn’t expected to take the helm of the Volunteers offense. But after Nico Iamaleava transferred to UCLA in a shock move, Aguilar was the next man up, and he has been more than admirable the first couple of weeks. Even with a grating loss, Aguilar should hold his head high. It also helps that Iamaleava is floundering as a Bruin. If Aguilar continues like this, the sky’s the limit for the Volunteers.

Week 4: vs SE Louisiana

The former leader of the clubhouse has fallen precipitously after another topsy-turvy performance. Against a shockingly stifling Florida defense, Nussmeier never looked wholly comfortable throwing the football As a result, it was yet another lackadaisical offensive performance for the Tigers. Luckily, the defense forced 5 interceptions of DJ Lagway, but if questions continue to persist offensively, then Nussmeier could fall out of the race entirely. What was once billed a potential clash between two Heisman hopefuls turned out to be a snoozefest. If Nussmeier can’t get right in time, this game will be pointed to as his downfall.

Week 4: vs Texas Tech

The story of Devon Dampier continues to get better as he now has Utah atop the Big 12 standings. Perhaps the most electric QB in the conference, Dampier continues to add an explosive element to that could create unpredictability in Big 12 play. Speaking of which, to start, it’s a game against co-Big 12 leader Texas Tech who themselves have a couple of transfers looking to make an impact in the Big 12 race, but on the defensive side of the ball. If Dampier nullifies that threat, who knows where he’ll be at the end of the year? Maybe not just in the CFP…but in New York as a Heisman finalist. For any bold bettors, this is the underdog story to get behind.
