Wales centre Ben Thomas has been given a three-game ban after his 20-minute red card in Cardiff’s United Rugby Championship (URC) win against Lions.
The 26-year-old will miss Saturday’s game at Munster (19:45 BST) and the home fixture against Connacht the following weekend.
If he completes the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme his ban will be reduced to two games and he will be available for the derby against Dragons in round four of the URC.
Thomas was penalised for a dangerous clearout on scrum-half Nico Steyn in the build-up to a disallowed try for flanker Taine Basham after 33 minutes at the Arms Park.
Referee Filippo Russo showed him a yellow card after being alerted to the incident by TMO Stefano Roscini and it was upgraded to red on review.
