Uros Medic got his payback on Gilbert Urbina after being dropped in the opening 10 seconds of Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 72 preliminary-card bout.
Medic (11-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) rebounded from a slow opening to the welterweight contest at the UFC Apex by landing a perfect left hand to the chin of Urbina (7-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) to put him out cold. One more extra shot sealed the deal at the 1:03 mark of Round 1.

With the win, Medic keeps his 100 percent career stoppage rate intact. He has earned all five of his octagon victories by knockout, and now that he’s 3-2 at 170 pounds, he’s ready to do more.
“I didn’t think too much about my last loss,” Medic said in his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier. “I came in sharp this time. … I’m going for the top 15, and I think this is a possibility for me. Watch out. I’m coming.”
