USC men’s basketball defeats LMU 60-51 in preseason exhibition game

by

On Saturday, USC won on the road. Now, you may be a bit confused by this sentence. Did the Trojans not fall 34-24 to rival Notre Dame in a nationally televised showdown?

No, I am not talking about the football team, but rather USC men’s basketball. While the eyes of the Trojan Family were on the football game in South Bend, USC men’s basketball defeated LMU 60-51 in a preseason exhibition game.

With it not being an official game, full statistics were not available. However, per the team’s social media, Auburn transfer Chad Baker-Mazara and UNC Asheville transfer Jordan Marsh led the Trojans with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

There is a sense in and around the basketball program that USC will indeed need to lean on its defense far more than its offense this season. Therefore, the 60-51 final score is representative of how UCLA will need to play this season.

USC will play one more exhibition game this coming week. The Trojans will open up their 2025-2026 season on November 3 at Galen Center against Cal Poly.
