Texas A&M has officially received their first portal commitment of 2026, as UTSA tight end Houston Thomas announced on Saturday that he has committed to the Aggies following a visit to College Station when the transfer portal opened on Jan. 2.
The 6’5”, 245-pound target caught 68 passes for 807 yards and 5 TDs over the past two seasons for the Roadrunners. He graduated from College Station High School in 2022 and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Adding a pass-catching TE was crucial for the Aggies this offseason after losing Nate Boerkircher (eligibility), Amari Niblack (eligibility) and Theo Ohrstrom (portal) from the 2025 squad. Thomas will seemingly compete with 2025 recruit Kiotti Armstrong for primary pass-caching duties among A&M tight ends in 2026.
