Can Valter Walker pull off an insane fourth straight heel hook at UFC 321?
At 6-foot-3, 265 pounds, Louie Sutherland certainly isn’t a small gentleman.
Given he’s a heavyweight mixed martial arts fighter, it’s hard to imagine him being scared of anyone, so we’re not saying he should’ve been making a proverbial poopie in his pants at the sight of Valter Walker on Friday.
But Walker has three straight first-round heel hook submissions on his record – the first fighter in UFC history to pull that off. A 6-foot-6 heavyweight, he’s plenty imposing himself. And at the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 321, he showed up with a chain around his neck that held on display a rubber severed human foot.
Walker’s been taking opponents’ feet home with him, and now he’s decided to show them in advance just what he’s going after when the cage door locks behind them. Subtlety clearly is not something Walker is concerned with.
Sutherland (10-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC), from England, is making his UFC debut against Walker (14-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC), who is a heavier favorite at 4-1 than in any of his previous UFC fights.
Can Walker pull off a fourth straight heel hook? He’s clearly predicting it. Check out the first three heel hook finishes of his UFC tenure in the video below. And then, what do you think? Will he do it again? Cast your vote in our poll above.
