Venus Williams, despite being 45 years old, is still passionate about tennis and striving for success in this sport.
Although her schedule is much calmer than before, she is motivated to win and to deal with much younger opponents. Yesterday it was confirmed that the experienced tennis player received another wild card, this time for Indian Wells.
In an interview with the media, Venus stressed that she is excited to play at Indian Wells again, aware of the significance of this tournament and how many good memories she has from it. Venus Williams will play doubles with Leylah Fernandez, hoping to go further this year than the quarterfinals they reached last year at the US Open.
“I’m so excited to be heading back to Indian Wells and can’t wait to return home to play in California. This tournament is always such a special experience, and there’s nothing like competing in front of these incredible fans.
I’ve made so many fun memories here over the years, and I’m grateful to the tournament for having me back and giving me the opportunity to compete in both singles and doubles.”- Venus said.

The 45-year-old probably doesn't have high aspirations for this tournament, aware of how difficult it is to compete with younger opponents, but her passion and desire to compete is what has driven her for years.
We'll see how much Venus can really do and whether she'll surprise us at this edition.
