After a first half that would make a mason jealous, the Wildcats turned up the heat coming out of halftime on their way to a 66-51 victory. Villanova (15-4) came out of the break forcing three quick turnovers and going on a 10-0 run, extending the lead to 13 points in short order. Starting near the end of the first half, the score flipped from 23-22 Georgetown to 36-23 Villanova. There was no looking back.
Acaden Lewis rebounded from his struggles against St. John’s, tallying 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. He was able to match the physicality much better against a pair of junior guards for the Hoyas.

Tyler Perkins, as he usually does, made a number of key plays. The junior kept the Wildcats in the game in the first half, scoring 9 of his 15 points before the break. Perkins’ defense was just as essential, where his 4 steals were a major contributor towards the Hoyas’ 17 turnovers.
Duke Brennan recorded his 7th double-double on the year, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Villanova is 6-1 in those games, with the only loss coming to Creighton. Brennan shot a respectable (for him) 6/10 at the free-throw line. He is shooting 16/27 (59.3%) from the stripe over his past six games.
A potentially major development was Bryce Lindsay coming out of his slump in the second half, scoring 9 of his 11 points and going 3/7 from deep. Hopefully that can turn the tide going into the difficult matchup at UConn on Saturday.
Georgetown was led by KJ Lewis and Kayvaun Mulready, each scoring 12 points. Second-leading scorer Malik Mack was held to 5 points on 1/14 shooting.
