Vince McMahon is facing serious heat after a violent car crash landed him in traffic court today in Stamford, Connecticut. The former WWE Chairman is being arraigned after receiving a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following too closely, stemming from a July 24 accident in Westport, CT.
McMahon, who was behind the wheel of a Bentley, is accused of slamming into another vehicle while speeding down the narrow Merritt Parkway—allegedly at 80 to 90 miles per hour. According to court records, this appearance is classified as an arraignment, meaning formal charges are on the table.
Barbara Doran, the woman whose car McMahon reportedly hit, shared a harrowing first-person account on Facebook just days after the incident. She and her dog survived—but she’s still reeling from what could have easily been a fatal crash.
“Lucky to have survived a horrific car crash on the way up to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard last Thursday morning. Both cars totaled.”
Doran says McMahon “hit me going 80-90mph as I drove in the right lane of the narrow Merritt Highway” and that she was “catapulted over 100 yards.” She went on to explain that both front wheels of McMahon’s Bentley were “sheared off,” and that his airbags likely saved him from serious injury.
“An unmarked state trooper had been following him as he sped in and out of cars… but he was not in time.”
According to Doran, the trooper later told her McMahon swerved at the last second, clipping her left rear instead of striking her full-on—a move that may have saved her life.
“If he had hit me full on, there might’ve been a very different ending for me.”
She added that she was left shaking for 20 minutes but “otherwise seemingly unscathed,” though she later experienced a stiff neck and underwent a full round of scans and tests at the hospital.
Doran also pointed out a strange coincidence:
“Oddly, Hulk Hogan, who made McMahon’s fame and fortune, died about the same time as the accident.”
Photos of both vehicles reportedly show severe damage, with McMahon’s luxury car completely wrecked. As for today’s court appearance, legal consequences could follow depending on how the case develops.
