Virat Kohli called the Amitabh Bachchan of Cricket

by

The former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar has recently compared Virat Kohli’s aggressive nature on the field to Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan’s “angry young man” characters from the 1970s. Bangar said that Virat Kohli’s boldness, aggression, and in-your-face attitude are not showing off at all.

From charging onto the field to staring down opponents, every move is pure instinct, and the former India and RCB coach said that it is Kohli’s natural character. Virat is known for his fierce attitude and never hesitates to challenge opponents and keep them under pressure.

Sanjay Bangar says Virat Kohli’s aggression is his true nature

The former Indian captain’s unmatched intensity and fearless captaincy led India to historic wins in Australia and put up strong performances in England and South Africa, helping the team believe they could win anywhere.

Bangar said that Kohli’s on-field persona is a true part of who he is, just like Amitabh Bachchan’s characters showed real emotions that connected with people.

Sanjay Bangar said on DD Sports, “Virat Kohli has a natural character, like brash and in your face, and that was his natural character. A natural character always feels right. Why did Amitabh Bachchan’s films work in the 1975-1980 era? It was because there was this thought of an angry young man, and in the Indian society, anger was somewhere simmering.”

Sanjay Bangar says Virat Kohli brought aggression and new energy to Team India

After cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly retired, the Indian cricket team needed new leadership and energy, and Kohli did that job perfectly. Bangar believes that Kohli’s bold and passionate approach came at the right time and gave Indian cricket a new life and identity.

The dashing right-handed batter’s leadership style helped the team become more confident and competitive. By bringing fresh energy, Kohli changed how India plays Test cricket and inspired the team to look at the bigger picture.

He signed off by saying, “Indian cricket needed some aggression because our fabulous four had retired, and Kohli had to take cricket forward, which he did in his own style. He changed India’s image completely in how they approach Test cricket.”

Aakash Chopra dismisses rumours on Kohli’s fitness Test

Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra addressed the buzz around Kohli’s fitness test, saying nothing has been confirmed about him taking it in London instead of Bengaluru. He believes this could set a new trend, allowing players to take fitness tests wherever they are.

The cricket pundit added that fans and experts shouldn’t worry if this becomes standard practice, as it offers flexibility and could benefit players facing travel or schedule challenges.

Aakash Chopra was quoted as saying by Crex, “These are just speculations and reports at this point in time. There is no confirmation or clarification that Virat Kohli gave his fitness test in London and others gave it in Bengaluru.”
