Virat Kohli put on same level as Saim Ayub by this Cricket Board

by

Virat Kohli was brutally roasted online after he failed in consecutive ODIs against Australia. He has been compared to Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, who also scored back-to-back ducks during their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025.

On his return to international cricket, Virat Kohli has lacked form severely and looked rusty on both occasions he came out to bat in the Australia tour. With a duck at the Optus Stadium in Perth and another duck in Adelaide, where he scored a plethora of runs, Kohli seemed to have given up and decided to hang up his boots by the end of the tour.

In a thankful gesture, he waved to the Adelaide crowd, but the speculation says that Kohli might have hinted at a retirement, and the goodbye was meant for all his fans in the world, as he set foot on the field for the last time in international cricket.

Virat Kohli roasted for consecutive ducks in Australia

Kohli had been roasted tragically on the online platform after the legend missed out on a single run since his return to international cricket. In an attempt to flick Xavier Bartlett, Kohli was found plumb, right in front of the stumps, and was once again dismissed for a duck.

Following this dismissal, he had to bear comparison with Pakistani youngster Saim Ayub, who ended up scoring three ducks in three consecutive games for Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.

One of the most quirky and witty trolls on social media saw the Iceland Cricket taking a dig at the legend, as their post read: “Looks like Virat Kohli has been watching the Saim Ayub coaching videos.”

Former Australian doesn’t want Virat Kohli to give up his hunger for runs

Former Australian legend Ricky Ponting, who has been associated with Indian cricket through the IPL, wants Virat Kohli to return from Australia with some positivity and as much form as he can achieve. Kohli has received widespread respect as well as a great reception at the hands of the Australian spectators and the Australian players as well.

Ponting has insisted that he wants to see the hunger from Kohli and not rest on his previous innings, especially now that so much is being spoken about the veteran’s place in the Indian squad for the next World Cup.

“I think you still have to have some really short-term goals and not just be hanging on to try and get through to the 2027 World Cup,” Ponting said on the ICC Review.

Rohit Sharma ‘isn’t going anywhere’, former skipper handed World Cup spot after stunning 73 at Adelaide

Former Indian player Mohammed Kaif has backed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for scoring runs for India. Rohit returned to great form and showed that class is permanent under tough batting conditions at Adelaide.

He was unfortunately dismissed for 73, which ended the 118-run stand alongside the middle-order stalwart from India, Shreyas Iyer. After the innings, Kaif specially mentioned the Indian captain’s prolonged stay in the lineup.
