MADISON – For the third time in about a month, the Wisconsin football program lost a member of its 2026 recruiting class.
Maddox Cochrane, one of two offensive linemen in the class, announced his decommitment Nov. 17. He committed to the Badgers on April. 20.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound tackle, announced his decision on social media. He started the post by thanking the UW coaches for their recruitment and then got to the point.
“This was a very difficult decision, but after careful consideration I believe it is in my best interest to decommit from the University of Wisconsin,” he wrote. “I have nothing but respect for the program, the players and the entire staff, and I truly appreciate all the support you’ve shown me.
“I wish you all the best moving forward.”
Maddox, who attends Benedictine College Prep in Richmond announced 15 Division I offers on X before committing to the Badgers.

He joins Indiana receiver Tayshon Bardo and Ohio linebacker Aden Reeder as recent decommits for the Badgers.
Wisconsin has 14 players in its 2026 class.
