After another exciting week of the high school football season, it’s time to look back on the top team performances.

Bogota
The Bucs (2-0) registered their first shutout in two years, 34-0, over Saddle Brook. Jayden Gonzalez threw for 159 yards, including TD passes of 21 yards to Dylan Leonardo and 8 yards to Derek Cabana, who also scored on an 81-yard fumble return.
Dumont
The Huskies (2-0) rallied with two TDs in the fourth to win another nail-biter, 20-14, over Teaneck. Michael Gil threw two TD passes, including a 28-yarder to Nate Velasquez for the game winner. Onyx Trinidad’s 5-yard TD run earlier in the fourth cut the deficit to 14-12.

Mahwah
The T-Birds (2-0) broke 40 points again with a 41-21 victory over Pascack Hills. Michael Branagh had a hand or foot in on almost every score, tossing three TD passes, including two to Elijah Dickson, running for two scores and kicking five extra points.
Passaic Valley
The Hornets (1-0) rallied late in the fourth to beat Caldwell, 23-21. Dante Benvenuti’s 45-yard field goal was the game winner, and it came after Richie Breitweiser’s fumble recovery in the end zone cut their deficit to 21-20 and the 2-point conversion run failed.
Ridgefield Park
The Scarlets (1-0) surpassed 40 points for the first time in three years with a 41-6 victory over Cliffside Park/Ridgefield. Francisco Then ran for first-half TDs of 81, 5 and 66 yards and threw a 36-yard score to Jalaxander Pimental. Kevin Velasquez ran for two TDs.

St. Joseph
The Green Knights (2-0) opened the early lead and defeated host St. John’s (D.C.), 34-19. Ryan Barry’s 24-yard interception return for a TD in the fourth sealed the win. Lamar Best ran for a 5-yard TD and threw a 42-yard score to Nate Bailey.
West Milford
The Highlanders (2-0) produced another dominant victory, 34-6, over Jefferson. Jeffrey Papienuk ran for 84 yards and two TDs. Chase Tyburczy returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a TD and scored on a 13-yard run. Aydin Deane ran for 51 yards and a TD.
Westwood
The Cardinals (2-0) knocked off Pascack Valley, 21-7, to avenge last year’s early-season loss by the same score. Bruno Vega rushed for 101 yards and a TD and passed for 92 yards and a score. Steve Klein ran for 57 yards and a TD and made 15 tackles.

Wood-Ridge
The Blue Devils (2-0) have combined to outscore their opponents, 89-0, after a 51-0 victory over Elmwood Park. Chris Rios threw for 201 yards and three TDs, Chance Iocovino had five catches for 130 yards and a score, and Ayden Ciliento ran for 106 yards and a TD.
